Discount codes

A discount code takes money off a challenge's price at checkout. Codes come from creators, for their own challenges, or from Runtiler.
Using a code
At checkout, tap Have a code?, type the code and tap Apply. Capitals don't matter. The price updates at once, and the code shows what it gives.
If you open a link with a code in it (?code= at the end), the code box is filled in for you when you get to checkout.
You can use one code per purchase. If a code covers the whole price, the button reads Start for free.
Kinds of codes
| The code shows | What it gives |
|---|---|
| 10% off | A percent off the price. Each person can use it once. |
| $20 code | A dollar amount for you. What one purchase doesn't use stays on the code for your next one ("$8 stays on this code for you."). |
| shared $500 | One dollar amount shared by everyone who uses it, until it runs out ("$340 left in this code."). |
Codes from creators and from Runtiler
A creator's code shows From @handle. It works only on that creator's challenges: all of them, or only some sizes, steps or picked challenges. A creator pays for their codes out of their own share of each sale, so a creator's code gives at most that share. For a dollar code, that means it may take a few purchases to use it all.
A code from Runtiler shows no name. It can work on any challenge, unless it is set for some sizes, steps or challenges only.
Some codes are only for people the creator named, or for people who joined through the creator's link.
What the messages mean
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|

| This code has been used up. | As many people as it allows have used it. |
| This code has nothing left. | Its dollar amount is all spent. |
| You've already used this code. | A percent code works once for each person. |
| This code isn't for your account. | It is for named people, or for people who joined through a creator's link. |
| This code is only for @handle's challenges. | It is a creator's code, and this challenge is someone else's. |
| This code is only for … challenges. This code isn't for this challenge. | It works only on some sizes, steps or challenges. |
| You can't use your own code. | It is a code you made. Your codes are for other people. |
| This code isn't valid for (the challenge's name). | There is no code with that name. Check the spelling. |
Good to know
- A code can't be exchanged for cash.
- If a purchase fails, runs out of time or is cancelled, the code's use comes back. The same happens if the purchase is refunded, so you can use the code again while it is still running.
- An account you got entirely with a code has no price to refund, and no fee to give back with a first reward.
- Changing the code while a payment is waiting lets go of that payment. The next tap pays the new price.
