Trading days and profit days
Updated
The minimum trading days a step can need, what makes a day count, and how challenges that count only profitable days work.
On this page
Some challenges need a minimum number of trading days to pass each step. A trading day is a UTC day, 00:00 to 00:00 UTC, with at least one trade.
What counts as a trading day
A day counts when at least one trade fills on it: opening, adding to, reducing or closing a position. A pending order, a stop loss or a take profit that fills counts too. The days don't need to be in a row.
An overnight fee isn't a trade, so holding a position through a day without trading on it doesn't count that day.
Example: a challenge needs 3 days. Trading on Monday, Wednesday and Friday is enough.
How many days
Each challenge sets its number, shown on its Rules tab. In the challenge editor, creators choose from 0 (none) to 20 days. Instant challenges have none.
The count starts over at each new step. Today counts as soon as a trade fills. Once you are funded, trading days no longer apply.
Profit days
Some challenges count only profitable days. Then a day counts only if its closed profit reaches a set % of the account size, from 0.25% to 2%. Commissions and overnight fees charged that day come off that profit.
Example: on a $50,000 account with 0.5% profit days, a day counts when it closes at least $250 in profit.
Reaching the target early
If you reach the profit target before you have your days, the step waits for them. Trade on a later day: when a close leaves you flat, with the balance still at or above the target, on the day that completes your count, the step passes. On a profit-day challenge, that day needs its profit too.
