Creating challenges
How prices are set
Updated
Why creators don't set prices, how Runtiler prices a challenge from its rules, and when a challenge's price can change.
On this page
Creators choose the rules. They don't choose the price. Runtiler's pricing sets it from the rules, the same way for every creator, so every challenge's price can cover the rewards it promises.
What the price covers
Runtiler's pricing works out, from how traders do on real market prices, how much accounts with these rules are expected to pay out in rewards. The price is set so it covers that, with room left for the creator's share of each sale and for Runtiler.
The account type counts too: spreads, Raw commissions and overnight fees are part of how accounts with those rules do.
- The lowest price is $10.
- Prices are in whole dollars, rounded up.
- The price depends only on the rules. It doesn't depend on who made the challenge or how many people bought it.
The fee refund raises the price
With Fee refund with the first reward on, the price also has to cover paying itself back to everyone who earns a first reward, so it is higher. For some rules no price can cover that: the switch is then dimmed in the editor. See fee refund.
What moves the price
In general, rules that make an account easier to pass or keep cost more, and rules that make it harder cost less. For example, these usually raise the price:
- a lower profit target or fewer steps
- a wider max drawdown, or no daily limit
- fewer trading days, or no time limit
- a higher reward split
- more frequent claims, or a lower minimum claim
- no consistency rule
- a larger account size
You don't need to guess. The editor shows the new price after every change, and the control you touched shows how much it moved, like "Price +$7".
When the price changes
A challenge keeps the price it was created at. When Runtiler improves its pricing, it can price a challenge again, and from then on buyers pay the new price, less any code they use. An account already bought never changes, and nobody is charged again. A higher price means a larger share for you on each sale: see earn as a creator.
Until you buy it, the editor's price is live. If Runtiler's trading costs change between the moment you see a price and checkout, checkout says "The price changed. Nothing was charged." and offers See the new price.
A code changes what one buyer pays, never the challenge's price. See codes for your followers.
