The basics
How payouts work
By runtiler team, updated
When you can claim a reward, how much it is, how it's checked and paid in USDC, and what happens to your account after, with a worked example.
On this page
A payout, on Runtiler, is a reward: your share of the profit on a funded account, paid in real USDC to your wallet. You choose when to claim it, as long as a few conditions are met. This guide walks through those conditions, how the amount is worked out, what happens after you claim, and how the money reaches you.
When you can claim
You can claim when all of these are true:
- The account is funded. Every step is passed, or it's an instant account.
- Nothing is open. Close every position first. A reward is worked out on your closed balance, never on open profit.
- You're in profit. The balance is above the account's size.
- The claim window is open. Each challenge sets it: any time, every 7 days or every 14 days, counted from when you were funded and then from your last claim.
- The reward reaches the minimum claim. If the minimum is $100 and your reward is $80, it waits until it grows.
- The best-day rule to claim is met, if the challenge has one. See Consistency rules explained.
Your account's Rules tab shows each of these for your account, including when the window opens, in UTC.
How much you get
The reward is your profit times the split:
On a $25,000 account at $26,000, with an 80% split, the profit is $1,000 and the reward $800. You always claim the whole reward at once.
If the challenge has fee back, the price you paid comes back with your first reward, on top of it. It's what you actually paid, after any discount code. An account you got for free with a code has no price to give back. See Fee refund.
What happens to your account
When you claim, the account goes back to its full size and stays funded. You keep trading for the next reward.
- The profit above the size is settled by the claim: your share is paid, and the balance starts again at the size.
- The max loss and daily limit start again from the size too.
- The next claim window counts from this claim.
- Any pending orders are cancelled, so set them again if you want them.
A funded account has no time limit and never expires, even if you stop trading for a while.
The checks
Every claim is checked automatically, in seconds, before it is paid. The checks look for two things:
- Copy or hedge trading: trading like another account, or against it, at the same times. Your own accounts count too.
- Price lag: profit that came mostly from trades opened on a price more than a second old.
A check never rejects a claim on its own. If nothing is flagged, the claim is sent at once. If something is, the claim is held for a person to review and shows as Under review; your reward is kept for you while they look. If they confirm a problem, the claim isn't paid and the account ends. If a claim is rejected, the fee back isn't paid either.
You can have one claim being checked at a time. The details are in Claim checks.
How you're paid
Rewards are paid in USDC on Polygon, from Runtiler's on-chain vault, straight to your Runtiler wallet. They're counted 1:1, so a $1,200 reward is 1,200 USDC. There's no fee and no gas for you to pay.
From your wallet you can use the money for another challenge, or withdraw it. A withdrawal of USDC on Polygon to an address you choose is free and instant, from $10. Other tokens and chains are available too, with only the bridge and network fee shown before you send. See Withdrawals.
You can see what the vault holds and what it owes traders, live, in How rewards are backed.
From profit to money in your wallet
A $25,000 two-step challenge with an 80% split, claims every 14 days, a $100 minimum claim and fee back. You paid $179 for it.
- You pass step 2 on 2 March at 15:00 UTC. The account is funded and starts at $25,000. Your first window opens 14 days later: 16 March at 15:00 UTC.
- On 10 March your balance is $26,100. The window isn't open yet, so the claim waits. You keep trading.
- On 16 March you close your last trade at a balance of $26,500. Nothing is open.
- Your profit is $1,500. At 80%, your reward is $1,200. With fee back, the $179 comes with it: $1,379 in all.
- You press Claim $1,200, check the screen, and hold to claim. It shows Checking your claim.
- Nothing is flagged, so within seconds it shows $1,200 is in your wallet, and the $179 fee back arrives with it.
- The account is back at $25,000, still funded. Your next window opens 14 days after this claim, on 30 March, at the time you claimed.
- You withdraw $1,379 as USDC on Polygon to your own address. It's free and arrives at once.
Your next claim has no fee back: it comes only with the first reward.
If something doesn't line up
- A position is still open: close it, then claim.
- The window opens later: the screen shows the time, in UTC.
- Your reward is under the minimum: keep trading until it reaches it.
- Your best day is too big a part of the profit: keep trading until the profit is large enough for the best day to fit. A losing trade doesn't help; more good days do.
- The account is below its size: there's nothing to claim yet. The account is still funded and your limits still apply.
Habits that help
- Plan your claims around the window. If it opens in two days, there's no need to take extra risk to grow the reward before then.
- Close your trades calmly before you claim, not in a rush at the last minute.
- Know what a claim does to your room. It locks in your share, and the account starts again from its size. With a fixed max loss, the cushion your profit gave you above the floor goes with it, so you trade on with the starting room again.
The exact rules are in Claiming a reward and When you are paid.
